Yesterday was supposed to be a complete write-off, which it was, but rather than rain all day all we got was wind, grey skies and the odd spell of drizzle.

Today was meant to be a significant improvement but it's just more of the same crap. If anything it is even worse with stronger winds. It's rank, grey and depressing and unless it improves I won't be going out so will have spent yet another weekend stuck indoors like a prisoner. Judging by the pile of filth on the radar it's going to get worse not better Just absolutely ridiculous. Weather forecasts are redundant because it's just the same excrement day in day out.

How can anyone be expected to have any quality of life being subjected to this worse than diabolical pigswill constantly

A rotten day indeed! Woken up 645am by the wind and rain and rubbish bins falling over outdoors! There was rain and more wind and the fields are flooded like lakes around Crowley bridges near St Davids - the river exe - is almost at breaking point!

Drove towards Tiverton and like the week before last there was a brief heavy shower of rain which turned to hail and then back to drizzle - temperature fell back to 5c then rose to 8c when I arrived Braunton. There was a 90minute break in the rain before temperature rose to 10c with more heavy persistent rain and strong winds yet again. Went for a meal to celebrate the Chinese New year of the Monkey and rain cleared temperature dropped to 6c before rising an hour later for the next system of showers on the way back. Abysmal day. The only positive is that it's colder rain 5C+ TO +8C instead of +12C to 15c with spineless gloom and drizzle or light rain.

Awoke this morning at 05:30 by wind and rain. Nothing unusual.. Thought it might have been more of a storm... Maybe later...

This winter is a pile of dog shit! The only good thing about it is the lower heating bills as it's so bloody mild. I feel for you guys in the UK with your endless rain, wind and storms. We moved to south west France in 2014 so this is our second winter here. It's nowhere near as bad as the UK but this winter we have had about half a dozen frosts and the rest of the time it has been mild. It's disgusting out there at the moment with howling wind and rain!!

We have had very few sustained spells of crisp sunny winter weather, which is the norm in these parts. It does seem that the north western European winter is going to hell in a hand cart! Climate change is such a bummer! Why does it have to happen in our lifetime eh?

To be fair, complaining about it being wet and windy in Britain in winter is like complaining about it being hot and sunny in the Sahara in summer ....

Typical Jan rainfall here is 50mm on 10 days. We had over 75mm on God knows how many days. That is not normal, and there is every reason to moan.

February is the driest month of the year as well in most of England - the Atlantic is supposed to be at its quietest this time of year. 

Anyway, the cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom, the daffodils are coming up.

Yet again the sky was clear all night and the temperature failed to go below freezing and yet again precipitation has arrived from the north in the form of rain Absolutely awful start to February which has so far produced 1 hour below freezing and a low of -0.3C. A typical late April/May frost.

Outlook is horrrific if the forecast I saw earlier is correct, and of course there's no reason whatsoever to assume it will be. Revolting grey gloom with rain and sleet and temps of 3-5C was what was shown. Nothing for night-time but with those dire conditions it's guaranteed to be frost-free so February on course to be even less of a winter month than December

Lovely day - plenty of sunshine, actually felt rather pleasant in direct sunlight. The cherry blossoms are.. blossoming and the daffodils are coming up. Next 2 days look completely sunny as well.. and no rain in the forecast. Not bad at all.

Awful weather here as well - worse that the last cooler spell back in January. Temperatures rising through this evening from a low of 4.5c and now up to +6c. Dire indeed!

Tomorrow mornings weather is a deja vu of this mornings weather - i.e temperatures rising throughout the night-time into the early hours to allow more wind and rain YET AGAIN! Horrible. At least there will be snow in Aberdeen eh Richard? Finally and accumulating several cms or more throughout tonight into tomorrow!?

Will there? Warnings out for today and all we got were truly rancid conditions. One of the worst days all winter which is really saying something. Grey skies, a nasty cold wind and nothing but a few wet flurries mixed in with rain. Inexplicably dry most of the time given the wind direction and temps up to 4C. 3.3C at the moment which is not remotely cold for the time of day

No snow lying, well inland at Glen of Foudland either when I check the camera in mid-afternoon. What a totally useless spell of weather.

 
So much for February being the saviour of the winter. It has been dire - even worse for frost and snow than December. Just unbelievable

I've lost interest in this winter now, it's even worse than 13/14. Good riddance to it, let's hope winter 16/17 is better - can't be much worse anyway. My thoughts have now officially turned to spring and summer.

The undulating rumours of anything white and wintry here have proven sterile- frost and ice on rare occasion but not a flake of snow or lumpy blob on the windscreen by dashboard light. The lampposts can go back to lighting up the street for all I care. I still look with almost artistic eye at the dotty white patches on the GFS but they must just be a result of my growing visual impairment.

So, according to latest f/casts the predicted week long cold spell is going to last all of 2 days...great...knew it was too good to be true, same old same old...bah

When was the last time Aberdeen saw accumulating snow? What's Aberdeen's/your definition of proper snow?

Enought to build a snowman or cover the ground completely for a couple of days. A very low target to aim for.
