Here on the SE coast of Kent we remained completely snowless. The closest we came was on Sunday 17th January when that band of light snow slipped SE'wards overnight but it stopped about 6 miles to my west. Before and after that..nothing. Not even sleet was observed.

I thought 2013/14 was relatively unusual but at least in that winter there were a couple of occasions of wet sleet. This one was in a league of its own.

Did anyone else completely dodge the snow bullet ?

Howdy Steve,

Not a flake seen this winter either. Some reports in Medway and possibly to the east of the Island but nothing here in Rushenden. Even on the hill at around 15m asl. ;-)

I have family and neighbours up at all times of night and they have also have seen nothing here. Lamp Post watching is becoming a thing of the past and my snow shovel which I bought 2 and half years ago is yet to see some of the elusive white stuff !

We cannot see yet another winter like it, surely......

Received the lightest of snow out of that Sunday 17th Jan "event" you mention Steve, but have seen thicker frosts!
This winter however has seen more wintriness than last winter however when I did not even observe a frost here, and there have been several frosts.
Pretty sad really. Hoping we can get something in the next week or so from an early morning wintry shower before the sun comes up.

Nothing here either on the southcoast but sadly that's not too unusual 😞

Nothing here in the shadow of the Mendips other than 1 morning of soft hail pellets seen on the car roofs around dawn.

i saw sleet in some heavy rain back in Mid Jan. It lasted about 5 minutes. The flakes were quite big too.

What a pants year it has been - especially coming off the back of the last 3 yrs.

Very sad times.

This is the third rubbish winter in a row - but at least MBY got a covering on 16th Jan when the snow that had fallen on and off most of the day (but not really stuck) got heavier in the evening.

Not a flake observed by me in spite of the thoughtful County Council installing new lamp posts with very bright lights.

Zero snow falling or lying here in South Hampshire.

I'm happy to make do with all the reports from elsewhere because I accepted years ago lying snow is a very rare thing down here.

Snowless bar about five flakes counted gliding past the lamp post conveniently located outside my front room at around 10pm one night in Jan. Thoroughly disappointing. I feel like wherever I go snow avoids me! I lived in Belgium for a few years and missed the 2009/2010 freezes here - Belgium itself didn't get as much cold weather those years as normal on the continent. I remember watching the news and reading about it and thinking so unfair!! Since returning to the UK there's been very little snow action. Don't worry though as next year I'm likely to be in India, so you could be guaranteed a cold snowy winter!

I must say - the reports coming out of Scotland (theyve had a great year by the looks of things (apart from the flooding) )

this year have been poor  - thats usually my fallback.  :(

Yes, had some snow in January which gave a light covering but that's it.

Very much the case here, Steve. But then again, I only live a mile to the south of you and on the coastal edge.

As per other E.Kent posters, not a flake seen falling in my neck of the woods this winter as per last year.  My 5 year old is very upset :(

Wasn't a snowless winter here as we had a slight covering in the early hours of 17th January... Think we was VERY lucky to get that compared to a lot of places.

Highly unusually for my new home we saw no snow on the ground during the meteorological winter although I did observe a few wet flakes falling on two occasions. We did however receive a two or three centimetre covering back in November. I have to say I was very much looking forward to spending my first winter at over 1000ft and was convinced that I'd see at lease some snow so I'm very disappointed not to have done so. It will be strange if March now delivers as that will have been snow in Autumn and Spring but not Winter!

2013-14, 2014-15 AND 2015-16 ALL completely snowless IMBY.  This is unprecedented, and is indicative of a warming climate.

A few smatterings here that would be more akin to snowfalls you would occasionally see in October or May (in fact, I've seen better snowfalls in both these months). Can safely say it has been the most snowless winter I have witnessed here locally in my lifetime.

Not a sausage this winter. I did observe a brief But fierce blizzard and a semi-dusting on the outskirts of town at 120m asl  last winter though WI, but down at sea level IMBY it was indeed snowless, as was this winter.
