Here are the latest charts for March. Currently looking like a 5.7C finish. So quite a bit below average but still higher than January and February.

Looking back to January and here are the highest temperatures for each day in January this year. We saw 2 date records including a 17.0C at Prestatyn on the 25th. One of the highest January temperatures ever and part of a consecutive 4 day spell of very high maximums.

Looks like I've guessed the wrong side of right again this month.  At least I've been consistent this year.

Here is the daily summary of maximum temperatures for February. No date records this month.

We had 5 days where the temperature exceeded 14C somewhere in the UK.

The warmest temperature of the month was 16.1C at Denver in Norfolk.

My current estimates suggest the March CET will finish at 5.7C. This is 4.0C lower than the December 2015 CET.

In the history of the CET since 1659 there has only been one other year where the March CET was at least 4C lower than the December figure. This was in 1853 when the March CET was 3.4C and the December 1852 CET was 7.7C. So the March CET was 4.3C lower than December.

That's quite an astonishing fact - wow!

Congratulations to Roonie who had the closest prediction with 5.76C.

kendalian, Darren S, sussex snow magnet and Deep Powder were all only 0.03C out with a prediction of 5.80C.

Here are the tables for March. A rather cool month for the most part. Minimum temperatures were much cooler than maximums when compared to the long run average.

Here are the tables for March - a bit more timely this month to make up for the very late posting last month.

We have a new leader - Windy Willow. Congratulations.

The Professional remains in second, Roonie is up to third after his excellent March prediction, Frank H is up to fourth and GezM holds in fifth. Plenty of big moves both up and down in the rest of the tables.

Welldone to all those in the top 10, setting a high standard for us all.
