SC, I certainly wouldn't want to base an entire winter forecast on the NAO forecast but it does work as a starting point/base on which to build through the autumn.

A good read. Measured and tells us what we need to know at this stage.

A UK winter with no clear signal at this stage could still be a good one. Eleven weeks of mild westerly disappointment wrapped around a frozen fortnight in January where it all finally comes right would suit me fine after the last couple of winters here.
