Well thats a bit of an exageration;

24 to 25 in the VoY, n'est pas?
Anyway, moving on - currently 29c here. We might yet scrape the 30c.
No because thats 1 hour ahead so thats only the midday temperature.
Heathrow is not making any progress; back to 31C. Apart from the (somewhat rouge) 32C at Staverton there is nowhere near enough momentum to get to 35C.
My 32.7C max is probably a bit low though; probably more like 33.3C.
...and the 28c I quoted was the 11.50am BST reading from Linton-On-Ouse
well it is 33.3C in Jersey now Given it's only 2pm and the warmest uppers are still to come, somewhere between 34-35C seems achievable. A bit of breeze taking the edge of Heathrow at the moment, so be looking elsewhere for today's max

Mostly because it was hard to read the numbers off all the models.
Well AROME has 27C in Linton on ouse then. Still only 1C out. Weather stations in hot spots.
FYI there is nothing personal here, I would just be amazed if all the models got this wrong. It would be a real credit to the metoffice and their forecasters if we do see 35C.
Enough already Q. That map shows 25c for L-On-O. Google maps are your friend.
Let's Move On!
Now I've looked into this. AROME is showing a little over 35C for Jersey only
Clearly though if the max today is in Jersey that wouldn't vindicate the metoffice who clearly showed 35C NW of London.
My PSW is at 30.4C but the temperature has only risen incrementally in the past hour and is not really rising at all now. Doubt we'll reach the 32C forecast by the BBC, but there's another 3-4 hours of potential warming so who knows. Always frustrating when the temperature stops rising for no apparent reason, even with 100% clear skies and a light SE wind.
AROME is predicting that the all time highest minimun temperature ever recorded in the UK will be broken tonight though.
That would be exciting. I'm arriving off the plane around 11pm. Would love to walk out into 28C or something.
32.9C now at heathrow. Don't think we are going to get much beyond this.

Temperature is back on the up now.BBC seem to think the max will occur at 5-6pm, which is certainly possible and happened yesterday (max occurred just after 5pm).

anyway it's 29.8C 😊😊
I think the first 31C since 2014 is now very much likely, though a rare 32 was reached in that year.
I thought the meteorological day was 0900-0900z (10am BST).

Whether we get a record or not will, I think, depend on this technicality.
