I recorded a maximum temperature here today of 24.1C making it the warmest day of the year and the warmest day since the 3rd of September 2012.

It is in fact the third warmest July maximum I have ever recorded here (since my records began in 2009...)

The warmest day of the year so far here, and absolutely glorious it has been (and still is!) too. Maxed out at 26.5 °C, just a fraction away from the magic 80 °F mark.

But 30C in Hayling is just off the mark, even down here in portsmouth it didn't get that high and Pompey is normally a couple degrees warmer then surrounding areas due to heavy urbanisation.

Lol even my back garden didn't get above 28C in the shade.

The lee on Solent surfers page has a link to a weather station at Solent and it spent a good part of day at around 26C... Rather contradictory to metoffice 😕

Me thinks metoffice bought their thermometer at wilkinson 😃

Max of 24.2C today which is only 0.3C off of last years high (recorded in September). Spent the day in St Andrews where it was a touch cooler but lots of blue sky and sunshine

Warm today, but a lot of cloud, amply demonstrated on the satellite.

Random convection turning up in a totallly predictable un-random way.

Two days down and 'OK' - for a heatwave. I'm not fooled into being grateful for the type of day which was quite common a few years ago. Can't wait for the cooler weather in the middle of next week

Indeed - we were still one of the warmest places in the UK despite the cloud that bubbled up, so I wonder how warm it could have gotten if the clouds had not bubbled up at all?

Suffice to say I am still feeling a little peeved about that unforecast convective cloud - getting a completely sunny day is such a hard task here!

Recorded a maximum of 29.4c yesterday afternoon here in SW London. It felt very very hot in the sun.

Still 18.5c out there now and struggling to cool. In for a sticky night.

Only reached 20c here yesterday - nice on shore breezes kept it very pleasant. Hope we avoid higher temps in the week as 22c fine by me - all depends upon the wind direction.

I recorded 29c with one of my unshielded sensors yesterday - no doubt a little higher than it actually was.  It's now 18c, a little down on this time yesterday but it's rising!
