It's so sad seeing the Aussies in such trouble and batting badly

😂 😉

Their shot selection makes ours looks outstanding. One half decent last test couldn't hide the cracks, no caverns, that have been there for a long time in their batting line up. Add to that the in-fighting and they are a sorry, yet hilarious sight.

All out. England batting again.

Gracious me, I go out to the boozer at 40 (ish) for 1 and come back and it's 123 for 9.

Personally - and I know the pitch will deteriorate - I'd have enforced the follow on to really humiliate the Aussies.

361 all out. a fair bit below par thanks to the top order failing.

Expecting the Aussies to get a 50 to 100 run lead minimum. Watson is due a big score.

Go for a siesta to find we've a huge first innings lead.  Current Australia = old England.

Have to ask did he really have enough cricket before playing in an ASHES series

Just seen the wickets on tv. That Aussie innings was a complete fustercluck.

This series can best be summed up (so far) as "Batsmen on both sides selecting poor shots and getting out, just that Australia are even worse than us at shot selection".

If we can cut out the stupid shots like Trott and Bairstow in the 1st innings and KP in the second, we can easily win all 5 tests, weather permitting. But.. I'm not sure we can.

To those questioning why we didnt enforce the follow on.. I say remember Trent Bridge 2005....

We made the Aussies follow on , they got nearly 400 and then Warne got to work on a 4th day pitch. So very nearly cost us the Ashes that year. I'd have batted again then for that very reason.. we dont need to face Warne on a wearing pitch....

There are 3 days left. Better to bat again, set them at least 400 (if we don't, we need shooting) and let the sun bake the pitch a bit longer for Swanny. Let them toil in the heat while our bowlers put their feet up for a bit. Then let scoreboard pressure and a wearing pitch do the rest.

Aussie batting in this series thus far has been shocking.

They were bowled out for 128 in this innings. They were 117-9 in their first innings at Trent Bridge and IMO should have been 120 all out. They were 231-9 in that second innings at Trent Bridge. It was the last wicket partnership in both innings that saved the Aussies from embarrassment.

Take out those last wicket partnerships and they have scored 476 runs for 28 wickets.

Wow what a days play yesterday was! Disapointned at England losing 3 wickets mind as it just keeps Australia in it. One good session from England tody will just about take Australia out of the game but if England get rolled for around 128 then the Aussies will feel they can still win this game!

This one is far from over and the Aussies will think that they can chase anything from around 420, England should be getting a 500+ lead.

Time for Root and Bairstow to step up tomorrow
