It was very damaging to trees here yesterday, although gusts 'only' reached 51mph it was from an unusual direction and very gusty which enhanced the stresses with most leaves still on.

Less chilly today at 10.1C already, cloudy with patchy drizzle and still quite windy from NNE

LAST NIGHT: Clear breaks and partial cloud cover in the first half of the night, then there was a spell of rain in the small hours.
THIS MORNING: Bright spells and partial cloud cover with isolated showers at first, then cloud thickened up during the course of the morning to produce rain by mid-day. The cloud base also became low enough to shroud them thar hills.
THIS AFTERNOON: Cloudy with some rain. The rain eased off by late afternoon.
