For the United Kingdom in December 2013 please give your predictions/estimates for the following:

The number of days reaching 10°C somewhere:                 The date of the first -7.5°C:
The highest and lowest temperatures on Christmas Day:
The highest offical temperature:          The lowest offical temperature:
The % of the average rainfall:               The % of the average sunshine:

'Official' refers to as given by Met Office reports. Sun and rain values are as on climate-uk.com.

For the Christmas Day category, the errors in both the highest and lowest temperatures will be added up for each member, with rank scores then allocated based on those sums.

Yes, mixing it up for the finalé, hope you like what I've come up with

Deadline is 8pm Saturday 30th November. Good luck!

Hour and a half to the supposed deadline... but really it looks like I'll be heading out, so as long as they're in before midnight I'm not bothered

Sorry it's a few hours late again, I was hosting a cheese and wine soiree yesterday. I ate a lot of cheese and drank a lot of red wine. Result. Mangaged to put up a tree and decorations with my housemates. Very early for me, but we are only here until mid-December, so thought we'd celebrate early.

Good luck everyone.

We do have to be rather restrained with the drinking though... just a few more deadlines

Heading up north on 13th December for a trip to Edinburgh. To be honest I'm not sure why we've chosen this time of year

I am allowing myself to get into the Christmas spirit now it's December!  Had two whole days off work, the first for three weeks, so I've got lots of pre-Christmas cleaning and clearing done.  I was hoping to get the tree and decs out of the loft but didn't have anyone to help me.  At least they've all kept out of my way while I've been buzzing around cleaning.

I just want some snow now to get me in the mood good and proper!!

Agreed Caz. Although I'm happy to wait until the 18th when I'm back home in Manchester for snow.

I've spent the whole day in the living room today because it is so much more welcoming with the tree and decs up.

December 2013 Prediction Game Chart

These are the provisional results for all categories except the total sunshine %. This is based on what looks likely to be the final situation this month - sunshine is highly uncertain so I've left that aside for now.

Trouble is, all I can see above this is a blank box again... new forum software, old gripes!

Gooner might be on for a winner this month, but then so might Rob... a tight title race is on!

I'm not having a particularly good month, largely due to me anticipating a chilly Christmas under high pressure... whoops! The scores for that category are an average of two individual scores for the maximum and minimum temperatures (9.4 and -1.1*C respectively). I originally was going to have a sum of those scores, but realised that this created an imbalance in the weighting of December's score totals relative to the other months of the year - which has a big impact on the seasonal and annual results - so I've gone with averages to prevent that
