I hope admin don't mind but I couldn't find a thread for Barney which has the potential to cause disruption to parts of Wales and England in the next 18 hours.
Met office warnings updated around 10am on Tuesday.
Looks like the worst of the winds will affect a central swathe of the UK from North Wales across to East Anglia during the evening and early hours.
Also, here is a recent and relevant post from Girthmeister from the MO thread:
Meanwhile, back in the short term, Storm Barney looks to be quite a sharp blast:http://modeles.meteociel.fr/modeles/wrfnmm/runs/2015111700/nmmuk-11-21-0.png?17-06 - NMM has it crossing a large swathe of Central England, with gusts widely of 65mph+, pretty strong for inland UK.http://modeles2.meteociel.fr/modeles_gfs/runs/2015111706/15-289UK.GIF?17-6 - GFS has the main windy region a little further south, and stronger too, approaching 70mph.MO have updated the warnings to put the main risk of disruption across the Midlands.

Aside from the potential issues in the Midlands, I imagine Mumbles, Aberdaron, Capel Curig and perhaps the Needles will catch the strongest gusts, and there might be a lesser spike in wind speed along N. Wales coast/Liverpool Bay as the wind direction turns and the ridge builds in behind the low.
Latest Met Eireann analysis on Barney's positioning.
After a dry morning with a moderate to fresh breeze the weather has really closed in since 1pm with driving rain. Since 2pm the wind has really ramped up. Gusting to 50mph now...very mild air too at 14.3c.
Barney starting to get going now Aberdaron 76mph
Highest Gust for me In Peasedown St John so far is 31km/h @ 12:28.
looks like its going a little further north to my eyes

Also "barney" what a ridiculous name for a storm.
That's pretty cool the chart I posted has just updated on a paste link 16.00
Did not think you could do that

Current 10 min average wind just 18mph here at the moment - have had a gust of 48mph.
I work on the 12th floor on 5 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, and the building has started swaying as the wind really picks up. Slightly disconcerting.

Walking back towards 1CS just before the FCA building you can get a proper funnel effect with the wind.
Gusty winds but nothing unusual yet!
I totally agree!

OK, winds really packing a punch now very strong and gusty at times.
Hang on in there Phil and keep safe hope it does not last long very windy in Chelmsford at the moment tiles making a rattle noise
Starting to sound uncomfortable out there now. Of all the weather types, I hate the wind and hearing objects outside with the chance it's likely to destroy something.
