Still chilly on the ECM at day 7, but for how much longer than that, like everything else is still to be seen.

Re. "Binning" output, I don't think anyone really was, but inter-run reliability the GFS definitely comes way down the list in recent days and that NCEP comment (i.e. from the professionals) should not be ignored totally.

But of course, we have been here before, so let's take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Superb ECM so far with a widespread weekend snowfall.

Yes, we have been here before and just underlines the uncertainty but overall the cold spell has been upgraded today after yesterday's let down.

Very unusual to get a cold spell upgraded within 144 hours once the slide has started!

The reload on the ECM is of particular interest but one step at a time eh.

I've seen enough, I'd be surprised if the GFS doesn't perform a volte face.

ECM could easily topple post T144 so will be interesting to see where this sits in thensembles  later.

From December 27th 2020, zonality will be banned from mixing with the UK. We appreciate that this may come as a shock to younger people and old Uncle Barty. This ban will last for a minimum of ten days.

Also a magnificent 216 from ECM with entrenched cold over the UK and the HP building over the top into Scandi.

Pity it won't turn out quite like that on the day.

New world order coming.

Hi all,

Just a quick question. Been following the updates anonymously but would just like to ask what FI means? I've seen it in a few posts. No expert or anything, I'm here just wondering what the experts think

Another question is when I signed up, some of the pages on the forum go black and white for some odd reason.. and Im not sure why.

It is not an official term and can refer to anything from about 48hrs in times of great uncertainty to 5 years for Tallyho

For example the ECM is good in the short and medium term and even better in FI this evening or until 216hrs anyway. With the current level of uncertainty I would say FI is probably anything beyond about 120hrs.
