With the sun gone down, and the boundary layer cooled I have two additional official snow reports to add. Given all the unofficial reports of snow in the NW I'm suprised I had to wait this long.
official snow reports in:
Sennybridge (Wales), 307m
Spadedam (NW england), 285m
Tulloch Bridge (W Scotland), 237m
Warcop (NW England), 227m
Aberporth (Wales), 133m
Gurteen (Ireland), 75m
Kerry airport (Ireland), 34m
Shannon Airport (Ireland), 6m
They are somewhat less impressive being both above 200m though.
Anyway I think this is going to be the most we are going to get. 8 official metoffice sites recorded snow today, 4 of them were below 200m. Shannon at essentially sea level is the most impressive; but like the other Ireland reports all happened before sunrise.
