Amber warning out now covering a small area to the west of london including the chilterns. Fortunately I'm right in the middle. We've got a good couple of inches here now with more to come, so turning into a decent fall. Expect schools to be closed tomorrow and after dampening their expectations before bed, my kids are gonna be delighted when they wake you up.

Surely the MetO needs to update their weather warnings?!  Currently yellow with 1-3cm... yours sounds it should be an Amber, especially given the Chilterns are so close where things could only be worse/better!

Sigh....quite obvious thaw here in Epsom and nowhere near as much as one had hoped. Kids stirring hoping for a snow day but if the school closes for this I’d be very surprised. May even be gone by 9am as it’s slipping off the cars already.

Very nasty conditions in Basingstoke this morning. A good 5cm of snow and still falling heavily. Even major roads are covered in snow. Very difficult drive to the station. Then when I got on my train the fire alarm went off. Smoke billowing from the (diesel) train. Station evacuated. Now on another train to London.

It was a nice picturesque trip home from work this morning with the trees loaded with snow and looking brilliant. At home I let the dog out and the snow was half way up the door which confused the mutt.  We've got around 5 to 6 inches and the snow is still chucking it down out there, bit more than forecast I think. I was surprised to see the main roads covered and looks like the grit hadn't worked too well, the roads though should improve once more vehicles use them. Great sight but I wish it would last a few days rather than here today gone tomorrow

I've found where north Kent's snow ended up - here's the wolf centre! (A few miles SW of Reading, up in the hills).

We've about 10cm here with the snow still falling - just enough to start to cause problems. My brother who lives on the Mendips says they've got between 20 and 25cm there.
