He did say that it would be eight weeks before chickens become available again because the country's stock has been exhausted. Dunno whether this is true.

Perhaps you should look at the date of the tweet instead of posting your pointless and inane one liners.

They'll also fail to enforce closures of things which would allow businesses to invoke insurance to cover business interruption.

Arron Banks will be very happy about that.

We are now reaching the stage where a lot of people "think" they have had it. Next time you get a headache start diagnosing the symptoms. Very quickly you are likely to be able to convince yourself it is something serious. Therein lies one of the problems with self diagnosis. What we urgently need is the results from the Dutch blood donors antibody screening.

1) pubs and clubs could/should be shut - but Bozo doesn't want to upset some of his core support

2) blame for the panic buying must rest on the supermarkets for allowing it, the people doing it for buying far more than they could need, and the government for being shambolic in the message they are sending out

As far I know, most supermarkets had issues around here yesterday with many shelves empty (even for fresh produce). Again though I think this is temporary and next week will be much better. Both demand and supply (less range, more staff) will adapt and the hunkering down mass psychology should abate a bit (famous last words!)

So, it was a valid observation; it wasn't a defence of the government's handling of the crisis, was it?

I agree that the government's actions have been shameful. A total lockdown should have been called when transmission began occurring in the UK, but they did nothing. I also agree that supermarkets should not have allowed the panic buying either.

The government has one opportunity to get ahead.

If they do not close the pubs ahead of the weekend, people will start to think that actually the government don't see this as a big issue - because if they did, they would enforce closure.

We have seen this week people have no regard for the rules. This weekend they will take even less notice.

This week so far:

We are closing schools  - What it really means - Actually schools will remain open in all but name

You need to social distance - What it really means -  People still going on the piss and being selfish

I am sure the PM will tighten the grip in his conference today at 5pm.

People are still needlessly working at the office, the pubs are full and schools are partly open.

A new wave of fear will sweep the nation this afternoon as the latest numbers get published.
