Pakistan floods kill 1000 people and affect 33 MILLION more.
It seems that the monsoon which normally has a sequence of 3 or 4 bursts of rain, is now on its eighth cycle.

Correction, courtesy of BBC's 'More or Less'; a third of all administrative districts in Pakistan have declared a state of catastrophe. That's still really bad, but not so dramatic as originally reported.
France recorded its hottest ever September day today 40.7c in Begaar in the SW.
A crazy temperature for so late in the year.

It was on Twitter , but cant see any official confirmation yet.
By next week from the charts I view with sausage shaped HP from SW to Scandi which will bring some warmth back here from France to low 20's. Any heat left in France will aid us some further warmth and hope that push to early October.
Long article here detailing the many heat records broken, plus droughts and floods. Snippets to give the flavour but there's a lot more.https://yaleclimateconnections.org/2022/09/hottest-summer-on-record-for-europe-and-china-during-northern-hemispheres-2nd-hottest-summer/
Wow. What a sad reflection of the damage we are busily doing to the planet.
Worth a mention.

Wish UK offer some variety in Autumn. Autumn shouldn't' be all about rain and winds, there should be some hot to start with in Autumn to warm spells the colder spells in later part of Autumn.
Cold front arrived and same place that reached 41.2C had big drop to 14.8C a record 26.4C diurnal drop range. Very interesting to record. here such a severe borefast UK Autumn without any variety anymore.

Highest official 24-hr total appears to be 220mm near Melbourne, but unofficial reports of 400mm in Tasmania

More flooding - this time in Crete. It rings home to me because I only flew back from there a week ago after a 10 day holiday. We visited the resort just adjacent to Agia Pelagia for a day trip. The weather was going downhill as we left so I'm glad we appeared to have timed our break about right ....

I remember the flooding in Central Australia about 50/60 years ago? when it was reported that the extent of the flooding in this desert area was 'incredible'.
Severe flooding somewhere in Australia is something that has been recorded regularly over the years but often, not at the same location.
The link below gives a good idea as to the intensity of these rainfall events -

Lot of thunderstorms and very cool temperatures of 22C in Nicosia and reported of waterspout in Ayia Napa area.
Autumn truly arrived now in Cyprus and really wet everywhere and quite early for those low max temperatures which normally reserved in very late end of the month.
