Pesky patchy cloud has slowly invaded from the west putting an end to beating-10C I fear, temp risen over 2C in the past 90 minutes.

We’ve had a long spell of clear, sub zero nights, including two nights of freezing fog and frost staying all day but no snow.  Thursday morning was our lowest at -7.7c and yesterday morning at -7.2c.

Still -4.5c at 10.40am. Models have consistently over estimated the temps here all week.

Probably the last really cold night for a little while down here. Visiting the in-laws in the Test Valley the car was reading -7C before 8pm last night.

Car thermometer temperature was -8c this morning 🥶 at 8:20am… the coldest car temp since I recorded -10.5c in Feb 2012.

Only -2.2C tonight as this great cold spell draws to a close, it briefly climbed above 0 in the afternoon for the first time in over a week. 

From -10 the other night to 12C forecast for Monday morning is one of the biggest change in temperature in a few days I can remember?

Has anybody else noticed the frost like shimmer on brickwork today? All the houses i can see in my street have the same effect. It feels like frost, I’ve not seen it before
