8th day of rain. May total now up to 205.9mm (347%)

I'm trying to put this horrendous Spring behind me and looking forward to June ☀️☀️☀️

Actually a fair amount of sun here today but as usual only during working hours. Another absolutely hideous washout evening 😩🤢

Autumn returned with overcast skies, hill fog, intermittent rain and breezy wind pretty much the whole day and still is like this right now. Just scraped 15 C today. The kind of day where just 2.8 mm felt thoroughly soggy.

Horrible sickly high humidity again this morning. Abnormal for the time of year.

The humid feel here continued overnight - the low was just 13.7, more like what you'd expect in early July. It's presently 13.8, dew 12.5, and partly cloudy. Yesterday's high was 17.9.

A big surprise today! Sunshine! ☀️☀️ It's 18 C!!

Feels amazing! I'm out in the garden on a rescue mission, most things flattened and no pots or bedding plants flowering yet. Everything about a month behind I would say. If we have a normal June I'm sure they will recover......let's hope we do 🤞🤞🤞

Partly cloudy, dry, breezy - and very warm.

21.4 (dew 12.3), after a brief high of 22.1 earlier in a sunny spell. Early July conditions again...

An enormous Cumulonimbus is looming to our north over the Forth

Lightning strikes within it.

Wonder if it will make the crossing into Edinburgh 🤔

These always end up being a complete waste of time here these days and so, I can't understand why the Met Office keep on issuing these warnings which never actually come to anything here.🤢

Today's highest temperature in Edinburgh so far was 19.5°C as recorded at the botanic gardens not much more than an hour ago as I write.

As that big downpour came along though which I reported on the convection thread, there was then quite a massive drop in the temperature which is now down to just 13.8°C there, a drop of almost 6°C in the space of just an hour.

This shows that the Met Office clearly appear to miscalculated the timing of this particular event somewhat.

Mostly cloudy with a light NW'ly breeze. It's still around four degrees warmer than it should be, and as expected the modelling has crept up from yesterday - GFS had 14, MetO 17, they're now showing 15 and 18 respectively. I fully expect a 19... let's see.

Currently 13.7, dew 10.5, the overnight low so far being 13.4. Yesterday's high was a very warm 22.8.

10.2C here, sun just breaking through after night with rain on and off there has been 6mm taking month to 50mm bang on average.
It still seems wet though as April had well over twice normal and May has had very fleeting dry warm breezy days.

Overcast with drizzle, current 12.3 C & low 90% H feeling rather bleak in a mod N breeze.

Ending this somewhat forgettable meteorological Spring on an underwhelming note but guess that's the joys of our mid-latitude maritime-type climate.

It's the final day of the meteorological spring and I finally get to report on here that the Sun is shining here in Edinburgh at long last, and that it's not actually raining for once.

Currently around 15°C here in Edinburgh.

Another dire day here. 12C, cloudy drizzle. The worst Spring weather for many a year. Off to Shetland next week. That looks great 8C, gales and heavy showers!!
