A sunny start and 13 C with a breeze from the SW.......will we make 20 C today?

The nights have warmed up a bit as well just recently and just two nights ago, we had our warmest night of the year so far with a minimum temperature of 13.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

All we need now is for it to warm up a bit more during the day because even in the most recent days, our daytime temperatures have still been no better than around average for the time of year with yesterday being a bit cooler yet again.

Last night wasn't quite as warm though as the night before it as the minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped to 12.2°C although even that is still warmer than most other nights during this summer so far.

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh is around 13°C as I write, so it will need to warm up by quite a bit if we are to even challenge that elusive 20°C mark today.

After a sunny start to today, it's now mostly cloudy with a temperature of only around 16°C, so it would appear that our increasingly long wait for our first 20+°C maximum since the very first day of this month goes on unless there is a drastic warm-up in the afternoon and evening which is less likely with so much cloud around.😡

18.6°C and the sun is out again. With light winds and good spells of sunshine it looks like being a lovely afternoon to spend in the garden. 😎

Looks like a nice afternoon to be down at the beach too. https://www.seacroftmarine.com/webcams/east-webcam/

Temperatures are due to reach 27C here by Monday so only way to get that need full sun to achieve which I will see if tomorrow to be clear wall to wall sunshine.

Of course, the showers to the south - affecting Canterbury, Ashford etc, all managed to stay intact, so those areas at least got a soaking.

Here it's been 6 days without rain and bare earth is cracking already, and the grass is starting to go yellow in places (I cut it on Wednesday, hoping it'd rain yesterday or today - it always does it good to be rained on after being cut).

A fair bit of cloud here, 20.6, dew 15.6 (feeling muggy). The high so far is 23.5, before the cloud spilled in from the west.

EDIT: 25C upstairs, with all the windows open, so another crud night for sleeping. It'll be worse next week of course!

Yet another mostly cloudy day after a great start! Low cloud coming through the Central Belt from the west with a cool SW wind. 18 C in the odd sunny spell. We'd booked an outside table for lunch at a local pub, had to move inside! Another crap MetO and BBC forecast. Still waiting for a summery day here...folk getting really fed up now here!
