Dull and damp (after 9.6 mm of rain fell overnight) as well as feeling cold at 11.2 C & high 80% H in a mod W breeze.

Well I spent the whole day on Sheppey as it happens, 10.00am till 8pm to be precise. It was cloudy with low visibility on the higher ground towards the north and the sun didn't break through once. Out of the strong NW breeze it was not cold but I wore a vest, a shirt a jumper and  body warmer, walked three miles and was just pleasantly warm. I know you like the cold and warm to you is different to most people's but you must live in a very sheltered part of the Island. I don't know what the temperature was other than 14.4C in the rain as I left at 8pm. Max here, just 20 miles away was 15.4C at 17.45 when, apparently the sun broke through for a short while. Not my version of tropical.

It was very sticky, even with only a light summer jacket (more for protection for my arms than to keep me warm) and a polo shirt. The joys of being in your 40s, y'see, you don't tend to feel cold! 😁

My weather station tells the tale: a Davis VP2 with fan-aspirated shield. There was a light breeze but it wasn't at all refreshing - "cold" would have been the last word on my mind yesterday! (And indeed, as the average high this time of year is 15 or 16, it really wasn't cold... with the humidity, even light exertion made it feel warm).

Sat out in the sheltered garden in fleeting sunny spells. I spotted a big cumulonimbus through the haze well to my SE. I checked the radar only to see that heavy showers have broken out over SE Scotland with quite a few lightning returns. Where did they come from?
The wind is less cold today although we are struggling to reach 13 C.
Must be some upper level feature coming across the North Sea? 🤔

Sudden downpour sent me running into the shed! No more thunder heard but that might be it for gardening!

EDIT: And not long after, one did hit here... dropping a handy 0.6mm of rain. I'm not sure my neighbour was as keen, though, as he was out mowing his lawn with an electric lawn mower. Worse, he carried on while it chucked it down.... the guy's not the brightest bulb in the box (didn't know what a rose hip was, for example) but mowing with an electric mower in the rain? That's just plain suicidal!
