Thanks Tim A. Very interesting. Given the general location of 'Donny' and its surrounding (generally) flat countryside. it comes as no surprise that it would be subject to some very high maxima like under the right conditions.

Is it fair to use Airports? Its always going to be hotter as its an artificial environment but no one lives there.

Most airports have got to be cooler than where people live! They are usually exposed , rural and cooler and not subject to UHI effects. I don't think the planes have any significant affect.
You should go try standing at Leeds Bradford Airport or Bristol Lulsgate and then come back on here...
This debunks that particular urban myth.

Edit. Heathrow now 37.2C.
I believe the official Doncaster station is at Robin Hood Airport off Bawtry road, which is the South side of Donny. My side!

That makes it the second hottest day on record.
Just had a light shower at Luton Airport. Amazing to feel the heat and temporary humidity with the water on the ground. It all evaporated in 5 minutes or so and the humidity disappeared with it. As the cloud moved away northwards I heard a rumble of thunder too. Fairly sunny again now. Will be interesting to see the effect on the official temperature here.
Edit: noticed that the temperature dropped from 36C to 34C in 30 minutes
No idea what the actual temp is here right now, in Dartford, as I don't have access to my WS from my new office, however it's pretty nice to see the Ac Castellanus bubbling up in the S, drifiting past the windows. There's certainly a lot more of it now than there was an hour ago!
After the cooler blip an hour ago we're now on a heat run here with temps up to 36.4C.
SO even if we don't beat the all-time record, 25 July 2019 is going to join the very exclusive club of 37C+ days as it's fourth member, along with 9 August 1911, 3 August 1990 and 10 August 2003.

Just reached 32.0c here, shattering my record of 30.7c (although only lived here five years)
Even cold exposed, rural Leeds Bradford has hit 31c. Leeds University 34.4c, although not official. Likely that it is 34c in favourable spots in the city centre.
36.6C. Feels like we've now left basecamp and are making our attempt to scale the summit.
36C here.
Anyone for 38C yet.
It really has shot up here in the past hour. 35.5c now, not official!
Clouded over now almost fully in Coulsdon
