Doubt we'll crack 38.5C. Be good if we hit 38C though.

Probably another 30 minutes left before things peak.

Here it's a stable 33.6C with some mid level cloud coming through, preventing any substantial rises, however there is a clearer slot coming up from the south so I'm feeling increasingly confident we can go past the magic 34.3C here.

I won't know officially if Sheffield breaks it's record until later, but the station I follow recorded identical figures to the Met Office yesterday when comparing Wednesday's daytime high

Grey cloud in central London now. Doesn’t seem to have cooled it down much, heat is radiating off every surface.

No records here in the north of Edinburgh as that annoying breeze from off the North Sea has got in the way yet again, thus causing the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank to drop slightly during the last hour to 26.1°C.

This means that my last recorded value of 26.9°C for that same station now looks like being our highest temperature of the day at that particular station.

Having said that though, I have noticed that a temperature of 30.1°C has been recorded at Swanston Weather Station in the south of Edinburgh (which is normally Jerry's local station when he is here) and there are a few stations within that vicinity which are currently recording 31°C.

This means that I still haven't yet to recorded a temperature of 30°C at any of my three local stations in the north of Edinburgh, I can at least now say that parts of Edinburgh have got above 30°C today and since I first joined this forum back in the summer of 2016, this is the first time that I have been able to say that.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

33.2c , which is incredible for my location on a hill.  Wasn't recording in 1990 but smashed anything since 1995.
Clouding over a bit now though.

Sheffield weather station matching our current record of 34.3C. It's no an official station but like I said in my previous post it was bang in line with the official max temp yesterday so I'm excited that we're about to surpass our all-time record!

34C now here.  I hope somewhere will reach offical 100F so that both July and August will see 100F.  40C seem very hard to get due to clouds reports, why they have to rush in too early and ruin it as normally they form late in the afternoon or evening not midday to early afternoon. Still sunny here.

No tweets from the Met Office for a while so I assume nothing exciting has happened since the last hourly readings.
