...and there goes the Sheppey Crossing. I'm glad I'm not going anywhere today, the only other way off Sheppey involves the old bridge which currently has traffic lights.
Looks like both GFS and MetO now agree that this is the beginning of a 4-hour period of peak winds; GFS has been consistently higher than MetO and so far (thankfully!) MetO has been closer to the money. The gusts here are generally in the 50s, with the odd one in the low 60s (matching MetO's 58-61 rather than GFS' 69-71).
That said, I don't like the look of the various squall lines working their way eastwards. Those will be where the highest gusts come from!
