Barmy - much worse things to worry about being on shortage - like beer !

Just cut up squares of newspaper, punch a  hole in them, put some string through and  and hang them in the khazi .  Next !

Anyway newspaper can cause blockages. Each to their own I suppose.

But was this a reason for the spike in Italian cases? Poor hygiene?

Flybe is in trouble because of a sudden drop in bookings and wants the government to give it a loan of £100 million in the next few days.

Occurs to me that one of the best places to spread Covid-19 would be in a packed Indian cold-call center ...... So with luck, it'll take off big time on the sub-continent and the number of calls to UK phones will half overnight

Yes, I think that in the coming weeks many companies could go to the wall and this will become just as big a story.

Of course the big difference between cancer and covid-19 is that the former kills people of all ages whilst the latter mostly kills only the very old or those already suffering illnesses such as cancer ....

I find the attitude of some quite extraordinary. No, millions of people are not going to die but the NHS is very likely to be overwhelmed by just a few thousand serious cases. That is a very big deal.

It wasn't 'bollocks' any more than much of the anti-EU guff you pour out.

The third time and onwards? Perfect. I feel a bit like a barbarian scraping away with toilet paper back here!

I've an eye on a proper Japanese toilet here (Toto is the main brand out there and you can get them here), but I'd have to spend some serious money on electrics and getting the bathroom reconfigured for one to fit (my loo seems to be plumbed into the floor, which doesn't fit with the more modern way of doing it). One day I might well go and spend the £5,000+ to do it!

EDIT: Looks like you can get knock-offs that'd fit my S-trap setup for £1,200+fitting. That's actually quite tempting!

Some of us are trying to provide balance in here.

'A few thousand serious cases' implies a handful per hospital: is that going to 'overwhelm' the NHS?   It seems to me that your comment is equally extraordinary.  If we reached tens of thousands of serious cases then it would become an issue.
