Quick post, re some of those anit-virals being posted about earlier having talked to someone who knows:
a) Expense and capacity would preclude wide-scale use
b) Last resort drugs that have horrendous long-term side-affects in many patients.

I find it quite amazing how many of these lockdowns/border closures/flight bans are (supposedly) ending in just a few weeks it could take the likes of Italy & Spain at least another 2 to 4 weeks before they start and see sufficient falls to start and reopen properly then you've got Northern Europe and the UK who are probably a month or so behind (longer in the UK if the modeling is right) all seems very optimistic from many Governments.

My Spidey Sense would say that the WHO advice will gravitate toward UKGOV position over time rather than vice-versa.

The world snooker championship in Sheffield is still planned to go ahead as normal in 4-weeks time as is next week's Tour Championship in Llandudno.

I agree given the times we are in it could easily have caught a few senior staff out. I hope it is fake purely because the figures quoted are worse than originally thought.

On a different note the number of confirmed cases in this region is now 9 (revised from 11 yesterday).

The only thing I can offer is that my wife works for one of the people being used for the modelling, and I understand what the rationale is. The big worry from my point of view is that politicians become influenced away from the science.

Germany for example has also accepted the 70% infection scenario. They are introducing localised isolation next week, but they have not gone full lockdown just yet. They are ahead of us on infection, but not by much. I'm not sure that their policy is that much different from ours for now.
