Latest YouGov has Tories on 52%, 30 points ahead and Boris surging approval rating

Same here according to people working in our local hospital.  Calm before the storm?  Hopefully not!

Got told today that our school will remain open. Staff will underlying health problems told to stay off work for 12 weeks.

Someone asked if we will be provided with any protection masks etc and was told no because anyone with symptoms, child or adult, would immediately sent home.

The fact that most children are probably asymptomatic carriers seems to have passed them by.

I expect things to change when we start dropping like flies.

They likely don't, but as they can just buy tests then they'd show up.

Mind you, when those "test to see if you've had it" tests come out, I'd be severely tempted to buy one.

Wrt regards schools since there are no exams this year I assume kids of essential workers will not have normal lessons? Basically it's just a pen to keep kids in?

P.S. On the topic of the glitterati getting it:

"Monaco's Prince Albert II has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the principality said in a statement Thursday, adding there were "no concerns for his health".

The titular head of the Mediterranean enclave is continuing to work from his private apartments at the royal palace, the statement said."

While many people are still lounging by the pool, there are 2 tsunamis coming our way:

The first one will be medical as all this country's stupidity, complacency and lack of leadership will wash over the ICUs over the next 4-5 weeks.

That will be followed by the economic tsunami, which will last longer.

I notice one of the new bits of legislation is the NHS cannot be sued for malpractice during the Coronavirus pandemic (seems to apply for any form of treatment).
Not sure how I feel about that.

If we can somehow avoid the virus I think it will be much better mentally than being locked up at home. Difficult to think we'll avoid it but we'll just have to take our chances.
