But that was from an earlier peak which was itself 2.5% or so higher than earlier.

Your statement that this was "clearly it’s showing a total and utter failure" was wrong seeing as the US$ was also gaining against the €.

Haven currency as already mentioned.

I think you need to take the Rose coloured spectacles off.

But negative sentiment is playing a part.

At this point, martial law would be inevitable.

I'm getting the feeling now, after being optimistic at first, that the Government is back to making stuff up and telling people what they want to hear rather than the truth. Hancock looked very shifty when he was answering stuff on Question Time. We know this government has a track record of talking the talk then realising things aren't that simple.

I have feedback about stores opening specially for an hour for the elderly and vulnerable. Apparently the queues were even worse than in the normal hours and it showed tightly packed masses of older people at checkouts and queuing outside. This is really bad yet on the News it is portrayed as another great thing we are doing. In Italy the shops are fine and people behaving well and not hoarding.

This thread reminds me of the global warming thread generally. Ie - excessive turd. I’m more and more convinced every passing day that the vast majority of the population are thick.

Agreed. People have no idea of risk perception. This is why they buy enough loo-roll to last a year-long bout of dysentery for a dangerous respiratory tract virus! One of my local stores has got it spot-on - it started rationing some time ago.

The level of stupidity out there has finally made me begin to appreciate why "risk-assesments" are necessary. They have to be done because the bottom line these days must be to assume all punters are basically thick, and then be pleasantly surprised by those who are not. That assumption is no longer based on any hypothesis, but based upon experience!

You’ll also notice all the offers have disappeared from the supermarkets.... profit always has the upper hand.

Day 3 of formal self-isolation here, so I've not seen what the local situation is here other than that there were half-mile queues on the main road yesterday as people tried to get into the farm shop!

Coincedence or not.

Johnson tried to fluff is way through, set a deadline, get corona done. Wouldn’t have been able to do that if they had been released earlier.

Hope your doing OK Justin. Official 12 weeks start tomorrow  😫
