Does anyone have the number of tests conducted for each day (going back at least 2 weeks). Model has not performed well today and I want to try and correct it.

Problem is that online deliveries are now overwhelmed, plus my wife is old fashioned and likes to choose her own fruit and veg.


It was not a problem - round here everyone keeps their distance and the queue was very orderly.

We had to stop composting for the same reason - relentless battle with rats who will gnaw through anything and always find a way in.

Here we had to spend money evicting rats from one of our loft spaces so have no desire to provide encouragement. We have rodent boxes around the outside which seem to provide 'food' for a steady stream of mice and rats through the autumn and winter.

Rubbish should be bagged up before it's put in the general waste bin though.

We have two compost bins and I’ve never seen any evidence of rats, fortunately. With two rabbits we also generate plenty of compostable waste - I built three new raised beds for veg last week and filled them with nice home-made compost.

I am self isolating, I am advised/instructed not to have my children and grand children to visit, not to come within two metres of anyone should I go out and exercise.  How do we know that this couple are virus free.  they may be at the supermarket tomorrow affecting others.

The problem Italy has goes back a couple of weeks and the botched lock-down of Lombardy. As we know, the news came out and thousands left to catch the last trains south, taking the virus with them - now as Lombardy starts to flatten the curve, Rome, Naples and other southern cities are picking up in numbers. However and whoever completely botched that operation, needs to be prosecuted.


But it goes to show that a country needs a nationwide lock-down if a lock-down is required - trying to lock-down a region merely clauses flight and spread of the virus.

Jesus, I haven't actually visited a supermarket in several weeks so don't have a first hand view of how bad it is. Sounds like some third world bannana republic.

Tins a bit short but fresh stuff has been over-ordered or something with a lot of big reductions with only a day or two to the use by.
It is frustrating that the online delivery system seems to have virtually collapsed you can't even get a slot to start.
But again must say it felt as safe as it could be, typically as you went round you were only briefly close to the same 2 or 3 people and the checkouts queues were also well managed with an additional waiting area but again it was more or less slow walking with brief pause.
Hats off to the staff coping cheerfully as possible.

The concerns are dealing with the items when you get them home and ideally wiping down or leaving anything not needing to be chilled to dry out for a couple of days.
Also whether you have gel or not you MUST avoid touching your face until hands are clean, think about door and cupboard handles, and take off outer clothing ASAP after the risk of contacting surfaces.
Card keypads can be largely avoided by using google/apple pay which I only stset up recently but rather like

It may have already have been discussed but with the government paying the self employed for at least 3 months, starting in June but backdated, is it reasonable to expect restrictions until July.  Obviously impossible to know but just putting it out there as an Aunt Sally.

Wolverhampton, the Black Country and Birmingham have been hot spots for a while. Birmingham is no surprise, but Wolverhampton looked odd - but last week my son-in-law said that the early cases there were appeared to be linked to a big wedding party (prior to the lock-down of course).
