My father had a transient ischaemic attack on Monday afternoon. He had a call from a consultant on Tuesday morning after talking to his GP. The consultant diagnosed the mini stroke and said he would need to have scans. We all expected that these would not happen for weeks or months.
However, he had the scans yesterday at 11am in Kent and Canterbury Hospital where there are no Covid-19 wards. Clearly, the NHS is managing to organise itself to maintain other treatments. It is so staggeringly brilliant that it brought tears to my eyes.
