Is she the cell biologist? I think it was her on the other day with a young epidemiologist and they were very clear thinking.

I'd be happy to see more of Maria Van Kerkhove. Exceptional knowledge.

Hand sanitiser in huge demand I can’t get any at the moment so that’s going to be a big problem nationally usually comes in 5 litres promised some next week
Constant topping up in the five used classrooms at the moment.

Also with regard to schools possible closing of canteen would be a huge problem up and down the country  for some of those kids it’s the only cooked meal they have so perhaps canteen and staff numbers linked to the most deprived children.Others would have packed lunches to help SD

Can also see double days and night shifts becoming much more popular for manufacturing which again has pros and cons.

will SAP cope

Re-testing samples from patients last December finds CV-19 was already spreading in France
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-52524001

This adds weight to widespread reports it has circulated widely for weeks before being noticed in more vulnerable groups.
Perhaps there was a slight mutation to a more dangerous form and we are already in a second wave

Absolutely. You won,t find a specific virus till you do a lot of testing for it so it is highly likely covid -19 was around in many large cities before it was recognised.

Cruise ship story for Maunder,

Anyway, I leave this to more knowledgeable persons to comment.

If it was a mistake that got out of control a mistake is a mistake. But if they were knowingly responsible that’s very different

China’s lack of transparency after the coronavirus broke out leaves a lot to be desired but I fear US  does have problems of its own in trying to find the truth and would worry itself about retaliations

As far as I know or from what I’ve read United States is heavily reliant on China for personal protection equipment desperately needed by American medical workers, and Trump also wants to keep a hard-won trade deal on track so it’s not going to easy to find the truth.

It was easy for Jenner. He just got some poor unsuspecting child, gave them the vaccination (cow pox) and injected him with smallpox, the biggest all time viral killer. Thankfully it worked!

I still think the compelling evidence is that the virus started via animal to human transmission via the wet food/live animal markets in China and most likely Wuhan. Taking everything else into account surely this is where the main pressure should be put to change practices. People say it is difficult because it is a cultural thing. There are some funny human beings out there then because I love my fish and chips from a proper "chippy" but as sure as hell if I thought I was going to get a deadly virus from there you wouldn't get me anywhere near it !!

Can people who have antibodies still spread the virus, and act as carriers, just like the bats in the Horizon film?

As I've just posted, the alleged stereotyping is just lazy and not properly researched.

How is that contradicted by an article showing representation within the industry as a whole?

If the article said in comparison to the workforce then you can argue it's lazy etc. but that's not the point it's making. Unless I've missed something you appear to have decided the article is lazy by implying it's saying something which it isn't?

Given the whole point of things like equal representation in the media is to try and address imbalances in the relevant sector, the article is making a valid point IMO.

Getting a wee bit off topic now I guess
