Tropical dewpoint's typically range in the 24C-26C but can be even higher.

Into the 32s °C, with a 17°C dew point. Feels as hot as I can ever recall here. Not a long way of how it felt at 37°C in Bicester 25th July last year, when there was much more of a wind blowing.

If your classing anywhere 23 degrees either side of the equator then yes a good portion of the Sahara is tropical. Of course though this would also mean a large part of the Andes are tropical despite rarely seeing temperatures higher then the low to mid 20's.
