Chucking it down with snow again at the wolf centre, a few miles SW of Reading - that 300ft or so elevation really helped today. Snow on snow...

Same here in Crowthorne, it's been snowing moderately for most of the day, but the rate of melt is faster than accumulation. Still, we needed the precipitation!

Stayed colder for longer than I expected this morning with bursts of snow in the rain/sleet mix every now and again. Anyway, first day time snow this winter/spring and at least the rain is welcome from a gardening perspective as we move towards Spring proper. Otherwise thotoughly miserable.

A new mini yellow warning out now for Northumberland and SE Scotland from 1700 as snow showers come in from the North Sea. Warning just about reaches Edinburgh.

None of us knows your real name, your age, your appearance - I think we've assumed you're male but that's it. Even if I knew which street you lived in, I don't know how you think anyone would be able to guess which door you are behind!

I can only think that if you are implying there are people out to get you who do know your name, or your appearance, and are planning to stalk the local Tescos to lynch you when you go shopping, would there be an issue. But otherwise, I really can't see why just mentioning the town you live in would put you at risk when thousands of other people live in the same place.

That saw 14 days in a row of marginal snow, which settled readily enough, but never seemed to build up during the day. It stayed above zero for most of it, which is why... and just a few miles away, they had rain!

As for here, a few flakes of sleet in this second batch of rain, but again with a bit of altitude (i.e. the M20, as it climbs the Downs towards London) it's been wet snow.

As said, though, we needed the rain... I won't have to water my newly planted shrubs for a few days, anyway!

A real mix here recently, frequent showers of sleet, graupel and snow. Absolutely pelting down with graupel at the moment. Instant dusting!

Sounds like you've both had "the 2005 experience!" That's what conditions were like here at the end of Feb/beginning of March 2005.

Snow pepping up again here. Temperature has dropped down from 2C to 1C and it's trying to settle on the grass and cars again. Pretty much all of the morning's snow had melted.

Another complete and utter fail here in Witney.

No settling, one or two blobs of wet sleet in amongst the rain, but yet another damp squib.

March snow is not welcome to me in any case, but this diabolical effort is just cold, wet and thoroughly miserable.

Roll on some spring warmth.
