Calm, clear and sunny, 10.1c and another promising day.
I can’t believe I missed the aurora borealis last night! I was asleep but our son took some amazing photos of it over our house. Gutted he didn’t wake me. 🙄

As for our current weather though (which this thread is all about after all), today started off on a bright and sunny note here in Edinburgh but there is now a lot of medium level cloud around with the Sun now hidden behind that.
We are being forecast to get the highest temperatures of this spell today but for that to happen, we really need to get rid of that cloud cover.
Too much cloud in the winter months all too often prevents us from getting a frost at that time of year and in the same manner, too much cloud at this time of year can also prevent the daytime temperatures from getting as high as they can be, and it would be a real shame if this was to scupper our chances of getting our highest temperatures today (that has probably already scuppered our chances of getting our sunniest day of the year so far today).
Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh is currently around 12°C, but is once again forecast to get into the low 20s°C.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
