Reading about the 'sleepless' south is so strange!
Scotland's minimum's were between 2 C and 8 C last night. I recorded 5 C and several locations had ground frost 🥶
Such an amazing range for a small country. Although it's feeling very autumnal it's a completely blue sky and the forecast last night mentioned the warm air wafting north for a couple of days before it all gets swept away east!

No ground frost though and getting a ground frost in what should be our warmest month of the year would just be ridiculous in any case, especially given that we often struggle to get any frosts even in the middle of winter.
Down here in Hawick though, the temperature is forecast to reach around 23°C during today and today has started off with unbroken sunshine here which is something which hasn't been seen in these parts at any time during this summer up until now.
Currently a rather cool 11°C here in Hawick, so we have a long way to go to get anywhere near today's forecast maximums although the temperature can shoot up by quite a lot in a very short space of time in that very strong sunshine.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
