32.0C (actually 31.97C) at Southampton Oceanographic Centre at 3pm seems to be the highest hourly reading so far. I imagine somewhere has cracked 90F.

Looks like 20 C is the highest here, the cool west wind channelling through The Central Belt hasn't helped. It's ok in the strong sunshine though, of which there has been plenty ☀️

31.3C on the north facing wall thermometer. It feels it. The winds are less than yesterday, which perhaps makes a difference.
The office far too warm, so that's it for today. Near enough 5pm which is good enough.

Something of a sea breeze picking up in the last hour but still around 29-30C mark.
Noticed towards the northeast some rather bulky looking clouds forming.

UKV 3Z has a 32C tomorrow in Dorset. Today it maxed at 31C (at least on the whole UK charts) so we might squeeze a higher temp tomorrow depending on convective developments.

A bit too chilly to sit out now, 17 C with a Force 3 west wind. Tonight expected to be down to single figures in Scotland. House quite comfortable at 21-22 C

Peaked at 28.8 C at 1.30 pm IMBY and has been sunny most of the time. Now a hideously swampy feeling 22.4 C despite humidity being in the low 60s giving a DP of 15 C.

An atrocious night's sleep (unlike the poster above, my idea of a good time at 9PM is to be fast asleep, let alone gone midnight... I'm a lark, not an owl). Unfortunately summer isn't good for larks!

Partly cloudy with the odd puff of wind from the SE. The air outside reeks - it'll be the humidity and the warmth amplifying smells.

19.2, dew 17.3, with the overnight low so far being a very warm 19.1.
Yesterday's high was 25.4.

21.1C, Calm after a sultry night and a light shower of rain earlier.
Last night I came back from the lake and it was still 26.3C at 10pm. So I sat in the garden with a drink and enjoyed the ambience of a tropical sort of night without the mossies. The bunched solar garden lights I've placed in large glass biscuit jars look great. I also lit the hurricane lamps to increase the ambience further. A good night for a garden party if ever there was one. The N. alata heavenly in their fragrance too.

Some thundery material now showing up on the radar. Will it or won't it result in a sound show in daylight?
Otherwise calm and mainly sunny.
Maybe a light show tonight?

Reading about the 'sleepless' south is so strange!
Scotland's minimum's were between 2 C and 8 C last night. I recorded 5 C and several locations had ground frost 🥶
Such an amazing range for a small country. Although it's feeling very autumnal it's a completely blue sky and the forecast last night mentioned the warm air wafting north for a couple of days before it all gets swept away east!

No ground frost though and getting a ground frost in what should be our warmest month of the year would just be ridiculous in any case, especially given that we often struggle to get any frosts even in the middle of winter.

Down here in Hawick though, the temperature is forecast to reach around 23°C during today and today has started off with unbroken sunshine here which is something which hasn't been seen in these parts at any time during this summer up until now.

Currently a rather cool 11°C here in Hawick, so we have a long way to go to get anywhere near today's forecast maximums although the temperature can shoot up by quite a lot in a very short space of time in that very strong sunshine.

Only 18 C in Edinburgh at 1300 despite full but hazy sunshine. The sea breeze is kicking in, just been down in Leith where it felt chilly!
The sky is strange today, very hazy with a coppery look to the sun, pollutants?
