Today has just very narrowly been confirmed as our warmest day of this month so far with a maximum temperature of 18.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
I will add though that although we are now in what should be a cooling time of year, it is still a bit early in the season for us to be getting a month in which we fail to get a single temperature of 20°C or above especially given that it was at the very beginning of this same month last year that we had our highest temperatures of that entire year, but that is the situation which we currently find ourselves in although today has still felt pleasant enough anyway in that sunshine.
In addition to that, we have had a very impressive total of 10.3 hours of sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank which makes today our second sunniest day of this month so far.
Finally, today's highest mean sea level pressure at Edinburgh Gogarbank during today so far is a very impressive 1030.2 mb which is the highest that it's been during this month so far.
All in all, not too bad at all for a public holiday and it is like that down south as well, I'm sure that a number of you down there may well be wishing that you had followed our lead down there with your own bank holiday had occurred today rather than at the end of August when the late summer English bank holiday usually occurs.
Currently around 14°C here in Edinburgh although the wind direction has switched around a bit now with the wind now starting to come in from off the North Sea.
