Here are my Aurora pics! It's the very first time I posted images on TWO, so may go wrong!
Initially the aurora was faint green, taken near Ringinglow, Sheffield, approx 08.30 pm.
Then the aurora become most spectacular around midnight with various shades of red, magenta and pink. Taken in Nether Edge, Sheffield.
The green aurora was taken with iPhone 12 Pro Max, the pink aurora with iPhone 15 |Pro Max.

What settings were you on?

Why was the recent aurora and others often  forecast (and presumably seen) much further South in the USA than Europe ? Many of those forecasts show the visible probability band much further South below the 50 ° Latitude in USA  whilst scraping Scotland .

It's always going to be harder to see it here than at the same latitude in Canada - the border there being around 49N, and much further south towards the east of the country.

"Today is a special day for Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. Earth is passing through the comet's orbital plane, and this is causing the comet to sprout a rare 'anti-tail.' It's a gorgeous sight in the evening sky, so bright that you can photograph it using ordinary smartphones."

What western horizon 🙂 Nowt here but cloud at sunset for days  :(

Its clearly not a great comet if you have to know where to look and then squint. I saw comet Bennett in April 1970 - it was absolutely amazing! No need for a camera to produce an impressive image of Bennet. Though, in those days, we got more clear, cold, Nly nights.

Why on earth is it being called the "comet of the century"? That thing a few years ago (NEOWISE) was better and it was nothing special.

Here too and frustratingly mostly just in the area of the sky the comet would be visible! No chance tonight either. Apparently there is another comet visible later this month that may be visible to the naked eye (C/2024 S1). There is however a chance that its nucleus may have disintegrated.

NASA/NOAA say Solar Maximum underway.
SpaceWeather says: Solar Max is not single moment in time; it is a phase of solar activity that can last for nearly 3 years. More outbursts... are therefore likely in 2024 and 2025.

Saw the comet last evening but talk of it being "the comet of the century" by the media  is BS.

NEOWISE was a better comet than this, better position and it was circumpolar whilst near its peak.
Comet of this century so far was Comet McNaught. That was largely a southern hemisphere comet but even in the northern hemisphere you could see it from a short time.
Camcorder footage I took from January 2007 just after sunset before it reached perihelion.
