The way both teams set up yesterday Arsenal always had the extra man in the middle of the park allowing a midfield even as awful as their's to play higher up.That wouldn't have happened if Sandro had been employed in there. Yesterday also showed to me that Spurs don't need to play both VDV and Defoe. Drop Defoe out, bring Sandro in.

Yes, he jumped straight up in the air - a good job he did, really, or the follow-through could have crippled him. But look again at the reply and you'll see that Rodwell does catch him. I don't know how much that hurt (probably not very much), but the contact is enough to take Suarez's legs out to the side.

Like I said in my initial post, it was never a red. But neither was it a dive by Suarez (even if he may have exagerated his pain)

My point was they never went out to the side. They went straight up (when he jumped) and straight down (he landed on one leg before rolling around) He made the most of it (like you said).

I'm agreeing with all of it except that point (after some of the things he's done in his career I have a lot of dislike for the fella)

I still see Chelsea nicking second this year, I really don't rate Mancini that highly and whilst the team (and squad) on paper is probably not as strong as City's, the Chelsea team have more durability and will grind out more wins through the winter months.

It all comes down to one thing- GREED. As Saint has said, this sums up everything that is wrong with modern top class football. If football doesn't get a grip of itself and start operating in the real world insread of in fantasy land, I think it has a very bleak future.

It's very doom and gloom, and personally I'm fascinated to see what will happen to football and what it will be like 20 years down the line. 

It's already been said, that the gap between the top clubs and the rest is getting bigger in the PL, but we're not yet at the level of Real/Barca, and hopefully never will be. If Liverpool got their way it would be an end to competitive football in the PL - just like the Spanish League.

Or even the Scottish Premier League. Nobody outside of Celtic and Rangers has won this since 1985.

That's what tends to happen in football when a team creates many chances in front of goal but doesn't take them- they are likely to live to regret it afterwards. I seem it happen so many times down the years in many competitions.
