If I were Citeh, I'd just keep fining him 2 weeks wages every time he didn't fulfill the terms of his contract - ie, to turn up for training & games (with the stiffs, obviously). I know they're not exactly poor, but why should City have to forego a transfer fee just because the spoilt tosser is embarking on the most blatent attempt to engineer a contract cancellation in history?

Suing him if City feel it necessary to cancel his contract is what's being mooted. The trouble is, let's assume his transfer value is £40m. If City cancel his contract, he can legally sign for another club without the need for a transfer fee to be paid to City (damn you, Bosman). So City lose £40m. Additionally, another club strengthens their team by picking up a top class player for nothing.

If they did sue him, would they likely recover £40m? Doubtful, even though he'd pocket a massive signing-on payment. Saying that, it's a nice thought to take him for every penny he's got and send him into bankruptcy.

Instead, I think they should just keep fining him 2 weeks wages every time he transgresses. The likely result would be that City just stop paying him, because he'd keep breaking the terms of his contract. And, if he did turn up when required, City could then make his life there so hellish that he'd be driven to go whingeing back to Argentina and break the terms of his contract...

The solution would be for another club to pay City what they value him at. £40m. If Tevez is so keen to move but feels the fee is restricting the ability of clubs to afford the transfer fee plus his wages, he'll accept a much-reduced contract.

Spurs continue to surprise me. 'Arry might be as crooked as a Russian oligarch (well, no, he's not nearly so crooked) but he seems to get the best out a bunch of players.

Yeah, those three are top class - and Parker's been outstanding. But the rest of the team lacks real quality (on paper) IMO.

If I'm honest, I look at the Chelsea team and wonder if any would actually make the Spurs first team. Maybe one or two, but I'd take at least 4 of their first team and stick them straight in the blues line up
