Glorious unbroken sunshine here, but the brisk NE wind is keeping it feeling quite fresh at 14 C around here but it is only 8.15 am anyway.

My ideal summer's morning as heat and high humidity does make me feel cranky, thus I'm glad to be no longer in the tomato greenhouse trade.

It's not just temperatures either. Back in the old days (couple of weeks back) when it used to rain, their forecasts for that were often as bad as Hugo's 32 dayer thing. Awful of late. I know I keep saying I'm loathed to knock the MetO, and I am, as they are usually superb, but the last couple of months they have regularly been awful.

The airport site is not in an urban location so will probably be more representative of the countryside (and was at 21°C fifteen minutes ago).

25.0C here, and feels much warmer than recently due to virtually no wind. Seems like the Vale of York, say, Church Fenton, was seriously impeded this morning with low cloud and fog, but it was clear here. In fact, Church Fenton (9m ASL) at 11:00 was only 20C compared to 23C at Leeds Bradford (207m ASL). Perhaps down to the wind - NNW here compared to ESE at Church Fenton.
