Brilliant aint it! 😁 Today could well be the day we break 30c. We've been perilously close a couple of times. Again there's a fair old breeze here which, if it continues, may well cap the temps again, which is pretty annoying.

Ian's photo says it all....I'm heartbroken . We may scrape 19c today if the sun does break through. GFS temperature projections could well have proved correct after all.

Need few days to see the cool pooling drained off completely from the N Sea to allow warmer temps to rise quickly and get same temps as the ones by S Ireland.  You can see warmer 15C over NE England coasts than your coastal location which still stuck at 14C.

Once again I never see such a cool pool draining away from N Sea all the way to NW Spain.

Agree with all said before, today is definitely the warmest start to any day since this beautiful weather started. I'm at work but have first drinks pencilled in for 5pm without fail. Will be interesting to see how high we go today?

This is the price we have had to pay for the very cold spring.

Obviously we all want it to stay cloudy in Ian's back yard, because he is rapidly becoming the new Richard in Aberdeen 👅 😉

But indeed, I'll be very surprised if this mist and low cloud does hang around over here all day and eventually the sun try and break though. I mean, looking at the latest satelitte image, it's only this tiny corner of Kent (as well as some coastal areas over East Anglia) that are still under cloud cover.
Of course I'm never going to see the real high temperatures the 99% of the country will get to experience today and that won't bother me as I'm not that much of a heat/humidity lover anyway, but it should feel pleasantly warm should the sun does come out and winds remain calm. Hopefully.

Since when our Kent climate has become so rubbish? As Steve said, it's us paying the price for that unusually cold and dull Spring. I bet Retron must be rubbing his hands in glee.

I consider it a lucky escape that the last week saw NE'lies (and two days had cloudy mornings), which reduced the heat potential here.

Anyway, the change for your area came when you flipped from being a heat-hater to wanting heat. IE, sod's law applies!

After all, we have had our fair share of remarkable weather happenings in the past and there'll be plenty more of that yet to come, but for today the cards aren't stacking to our favour for around here.

Currently sunny 22 deg c
The met have my area in mid-hampshire hitting 32 deg c around 4 pm today, but my feeling is it will be a concrete heat pool like Heathrow that probably will reach the max today. Still whether its 29 or 32 it will be hot
Im ok though, booked to take a fast rib ride around southampton waters and the solent at midday!
