In theory if there was wall to wall sunshine every day in July, and you took readings from the top of an exposed hill, then the total would be something like 15.5h x 31 days = 480.5h

Here I've now got 318.1 hours to the end of today

Tomorrow is a real wild card because any delays in the cloud and thundery rain will allow temperatures to soar thanks to some very warm air feeding across much of England, most of all the SE.

Car thermometer showing 26C here and it certainly feels very warm with high cloud and hazy sun. I'm beginning to wonder if this rain will reach here at all.

Very warm and humid here again today, but it's just started to rain and the temp has fallen to 22c, so hopefully it will freshen a little more this evening.

29.5C at Northolt the max today I think. Shame about those 2 days at 27.9C but even so that is now 22 days with a max above 82F. Never an extreme heatwave but the length is pretty notable now - even after the "breakdown" the heat has kept going.

14.2C last night to 31.1C today and Epsom weather station recorded 30.3C and 30.1C in Iver.

That now 13th day for seeing 30C here or over but unlikely to beat the record 15 times in July 2006 as we will get some cooler mid 20's temps tomorrow and remaining end of July.

On the days Hurn maxed out its quite probable that Bournemouth was warmer then Hurn as it was down wind

One other date your missing.. on the 18th July Hurn & Solent both according to the metoffice reached 30.5C however for unknown reasons on the national extremes page only hurn was mentioned... regionaly however solent was.

There will be many people upset at it unlikely to reach 35*c at the end of the week but let's be honest today's (Sunday) Low/Mid 20s will be very enjoyable.

I just merely like my exciting weather (when a thunderstorm is on it's way or it's going to snow).

Anyway, back on topic, it's feeling much more fresher and seasonable in nature over here with a sensible 17 C under sunny spells and partial cloud cover, almost feeling like a September's morning.
I would expect temperatures to get up to 20 C this afternoon if it does stay bright but the brisk SW wiind will keep it feeling fresh.

My kind of summer. To be honest, I think I've had enough weather-related excitement for this summer, feels like it's taking over my reasoning.
