I haven't seen any snow per say. But I did see some large snow flakes swirling in the cloud above. Although none of it got to the ground, it was fairly noticble. Looked like a blizzard in the clouds.

Back to heavy sleet. Just took some rubbish to the bin and it's pretty awful out there with big icy flakes falling down soaking you instantly.

Not sure what's falling out of the sky but the temp here is down to 3.8c. Breeze has picked up a bit too. Snow can't be too far from the hills around here.

In theory, I could catch the western edge of that later tonight, in practice, I'm sure it'll amount to nothing by the time it gets here ......   I'll not be staying up!

Still snowing here despite lighter precipitation. It's 1.1C with a dew of 0.3C so it wouldn't take much heavier precipitation for it to start settling - doubt that'll happen though.

The cold pool over yorkshire has merged with the larger one over E anglia. The constant heavy precipatation is starting to have an effect. But note, the cold air lies SE of the main shower band, despite this we could see some flash precip changes particularly in yorkshire, and especially if the wind has any chance to drop. And if that band does move a little further SE, then snow could become potentially widespread to lower levels.

OK this is the situ. As expected a rapid change to snow in yorkshire now. The black lines indicate cold pools. Basically where evap cooling is capable of turning the precip to snow. The two pools over E anglia and humberside have merged and are now causing a snow transformation in yorkshire. There is a smaller cold pool also starting to develop in SW wales.
