Looking increasingly marginal though. At a guess i think ill finish the month at 285mm but we'll see in a week.

Confidence in exceeding 300mm is increasing i have no idea if this is a special/rare milestone, but i have certainly not recorded it.
Edit - apparently my record is 307.2mm in Feb 2011 but i think a lot of that would have been snowmelt.
That's a lot of brollies
A bone dry 163.2mm by comparison here (though it is far from bone dry when you're tring to cross a bog as we did yesterday)
Here in Watford I got 26.1mm from the storm its now been 13 days in a row with recorded rain, the longest period this year.
Total for the month so far is 75mm.

2.4mm Yesterday. 5.4mm. Today. Total so far for this month 79.5mm.
Another 10.8mm today, 155.4mm for the month, so far.
17.9mm so far today (still more to come) has taken me to 293.8mm for Dec.
My corner of Kent which is normally very dry has had 105.2 mm so far this month.
Now at 298.2mm, still raining, expect to wake in the morning having broke the 300mm barrier. Next target a new monthly record.

With 115.8mm in the bucket thus far, my record of 9 years set in December 2012 of 133.2mm is under threat according to the GFS 0z shown above. Ive now had 3 consecutive wet months following a run of around 9 dry months, so the groundwater situation is not as bad as it might have been, but a wet January (which now seems very likely) would start to lead to problems in the prone areas within the east Kent aquifer area.

Edit for typos
6 Dry days this month and still only on 79.5mm.....
A further 10.5mm today has taken me to 306.6mm for the month.
I will easily break my all time record now, especially with the heavy rain forecast Sun night into Mon.
7th Dry Day yesterday. Total 79.5 mm. Until this evening...
72mm so a little over the average (66mm). November was dry here though (21.6mm).
43.0mm here compared to 145.4mm last December and an average of 69.5mm.

3.9mm Today . Total at the moment 83.7mm.
7.8mm This morning. Total 87.6mm.
I got another 32.8mm from the latest system, will probably not record any more today.
Total for December stands at 340.7mm
I expect that to climb further tomorrow.
A remarkable difference in rainfall total here compared to most other places. My current December total stands at just 38mm. It could still turn out to be a dry month here !!
Only 1.5 mm today but it is still falling. Total 89.7mm.
