98.6mm for the month and currently hooning down.

The third consecutive 100mm + month here is likely to achieved soon.

I'm going to have to get a new weather station (my old WS2300 used to give me accurate readings using the same location).

I am now at 252mm for the month, but would like to see another 10mm or some this evening and overnight if i am to be in with a chance of hitting the magical 300mm.

Looking increasingly marginal though.  At a guess i think ill finish the month at 285mm but we'll see in a week.

Confidence in exceeding 300mm is increasing   i have no idea if this is a special/rare milestone, but i have certainly not recorded it.

Edit - apparently my record is 307.2mm in Feb 2011 but i think a lot of that would have been snowmelt.

A bone dry 163.2mm by comparison here (though it is far from bone dry when you're tring to cross a bog as we did yesterday)

With 115.8mm in the bucket thus far, my record of 9 years set in December 2012 of 133.2mm is under threat according to the GFS 0z shown above.  Ive now had 3 consecutive wet months following a run of around 9 dry months, so the groundwater situation is not as bad as it might have been, but a wet January (which now seems very likely) would start to lead to problems in the prone areas within the east Kent aquifer area.

A remarkable difference in rainfall total here compared to most other places.  My current December total stands at just 38mm.  It could still turn out to be a dry month here !!
