Another abysmal winters day in North Kent. Loads of heavy showers with torrential outbursts of rain. Only around 6 degrees! It is damp and miserable out there and we are forecast further rain for tonight and through the weekend!!
Why the hell does it have to be so mild and wet? Mild would be bearable if it was dry and sunny. But we have suffered week after week after week of wind and rain, wind and rain, ad finitum. Peoples lives are being ruined by serious flooding and for all we know this could just carry on for weeks and weeks and weeks!!
I am in my mid forties and I really cannot remember a time when we had so many flood events on such a regular basis and incessant rain, day after day after day? To me we seem to have 'bad' weather far more often than say thirty years ago..but maybe I am wrong, or my perception is wrong?
Myself and my partner lived in beautiful North Wales for nearly a decade, but our decision to move was based mainly on the fact we could no longer live with the predominantly grey and very wet climate! Damp gets into your bones and you long for sunny skies and a softer climate.
I am surprised that so many people on this forum don't seem to mind the current weather type and I wish I could have their outlook!!
Maybe the fact that my work/recreation is solely outdoor based and thus bad weather impacts upon my work more than the majority of people who are office based in cities etc? I work as a garden landscaper/designer and this incessant wet weather plays havoc with my work!
Another cold and wet spring such as last year will be disastrous for my business! After the crap spell of weather we have endured since a cold and miserable September with a wash out winter (so far), then all I want now is an incredible warm and sunny spring such as we got 2003 (Warm and dry Feb, March and April)
Winter...pah..it can sod off now for all I care!!
