C Kirkwood just now on BBC saying 100mph gusts possible in parts of Wales and the Isle of Wight. Strongest storm of a very stormy winter coming up today. She also said many parts will see a months worth of rain by Saturday!

Some idiot on 5 live has just told everyone this is definitely a hurricane. Bacon questioned his assessment and said is there a distinction between hurricane force gusts and a hurricane and he replied "No, it's a hurricane". So Bacon again queried "So a hurricane is about to hit the northwest?" answer: "Yes"

And this was a Liverpool coastguard spokesman. Idiot.

I mean who would have predicted this lot we are having now according to one paper we were going to get snowmeggedon

Maybe a bit of fun, but not if you are trying to get people to take climate science seriously.
