The dark stripe on the WV image spiralling into the low centre is very dry air rapidly descending, and a signature of a sting-jet situation. Hence the highest warning level. It should be noted that should upper winds push down to sea level, the location may not be as forecast and anywhere from NW England to the S Midlands are at risk IMO.
just a very tiny tad further north than expected thats what my projector tells me anyway

hi all this storm coming in today could might be on a par of oct 1987 storm or bun night storm . it looks like north wales and north wards will get the worst of the storm . my brother is a paramedic /ablance driver in liverpool . i hope he will take care . try phoning him but he on duty .
Slightly further north but the trouble is on the southern flank as Neil described
The cold front, or fronts as there appears to be some rapid changes, look set to be quite active and convective as they cross the south this afternoon with squally winds, hail and a risk of thunder
indeed Dave was just making comment about postion

Wet and relatively calm here. The usual voices chattering in the background about the MetO overcooking it, and it's not even due yet!
The fencing looks like it's about be torn to shreds
Anyone got an idea of the timetable of the winds transferring across the UK
Dumb question I know , just wondering when I am likely to see them
Oh my god, that is crazy
