Should prove interesting to see whether RBS opts to roll over the loan should Statler & Waldorf win in the High Court. If not then it's likely ta ta to the PL.

I may be biased, and I do acknowledge the pathetic start Liverpool have made to the season. But I very much doubt Liverpool couldn't overcome a 9 point deduction to avoid relegation.

Ideal scenario for me would be for the parasites to lose the court case and the sale go ahead (although the thought of being owned by more septics wanting to make money from the club fills me with nil enthusiasm). Failing that, I want RBS to take the club into administration. The new Septics would likely pick up the club for a bit less, theoretically giving them more funds to make available for much-needed transfers.

The only problem with this theory, as the piece highlights, is that the prospective owners may not share your optimism about Liverpool's ability to overcome the 9-point deficit, should it occur.

The only light at the end of the tunnel from your point of view is that (from my cynical perspective) the powers-that-be will fiddle it so that no 9-point deduction occurs, precisely because it is Liverpool, rather than say Portsmouth involved. Expect some Ali Bongo antics in the next few days when it comes to the club's accounts and subsequent sale.

Whilst this is all very amusing 😝 The chances of Liverpool being relegated are virtually zero. Now if they end up in mid table obscurity for a few seasons that chance could well increase. This is an extremely pivotal time for LFC right now

Didn't realise until now that Van Persie is stalling on his contract. And nowt to do with money, seemingly.

Well worth a £20m bid IMO, even if there are injury issues. Obviously, I hope Utd are too serious.

He is a very good player, but also a liability and if he was sold, we probably wouldn't miss too much, as we play most matches without him anyway.

Though I guess we don't want to be in the business of selling the better players that we have.

Good player that he is snd can be very influential, the lad is to injury prone. I dont see SAF bidding for Van Persie and i definitley dont see Mr Wenger letting Van Persie move to another prem club.

16/1 to go down, according to BetFred. I'm assuming the 9-point deduction isn't being factored in, on the basis it will never happen because the PL will cite the example of West Ham as an excuse to do bugger all.

Betting odds are just a reflection of where the general public are putting their money, not a reflection of what the bookies think will happen. Naturally the bookies open the book with initial odds, but after that it's just the public that sway the odds.

Equally in football markets such as this it's the big betters who determine the odds, rather than you and me. So they tend to reflect where a lot of money has gone from relatively few punters.

It gets worse for Liverpool. They may not even need the hypothetical -9 points to go down.

Not only lose, but have costs awarded against them and pretty much told not to appeal.

You know, I could feel sorry for them.... if they weren't such a pair of twunts.

Not that I'm particularly inspired by the prospect of another bunch of Septics buying to club as an investment. With the way Chelsea and City are bankrolled, football clubs these days CANNOT be successful both on the pitch and on the P&L

PS - you've not been on the Liverpool section of 606 have you?

Always a favourite place for WUM's, but today it's genuinely depressing to see the level of hate displayed by some people toward Liverpool, now their dream of a bloody Liverpool implosion seems to have been averted.

Lose on Sunday and I don't think that implosion is too great a word for it Saint.

A draw is the bare minimum you need at Goodison.

Actually, if you go on the Sunderland bulletin board (of which you know) there was a poll done (in a thread) of the five clubs fans most hated. Very prominent were Leeds and Spurs - two clubs that fans could hardly be envious of, given their recent lack of success. MK Dons got a dishonourable mention too - largely because it's a faux club.

Liverpool also featured because, like Spurs fans, they are regarded as arrogant. Nowhere were Spurs fans criticised for being whiners though.
