On hols in Cornwall at the mo, we've had some pretty hefty rain but no thnderstors as yet, although looking at tmetox radar it looks as though some has slipped by either side of us  during the early morning.

Heavy rain here now and gloomy.

Still plenty of time for things to develop later today.

I just watched a slow moving storm making it's way along the north coast of Somerset. Plenty of rumbles and a few flashes. After it had passed some of the hills over there were left completely white from hail. Looked like winter.

Tomorrow could be fun...

Basically, the line of convergence and convective potential running SW to NE shifts SE by a few hundred miles from today.

The flow becomes increasingly slow too - high rainfall totals in places, especially where the storms line up and train through such has been seen across fairly narrow parts of England today.

Thunder here at about 4:30-5:30 with some heavy rain totalling about 12mms or so. Would hardly call it exceptional though with most of the lightning on the West side of the Mendips.
