But here at coastal level, it has been - and still is - dull and manky with icy sleety cold rain.  But it was to be expected given the marginal nature of it all.

Was I dreaming ?

Only this morning the MetO five-dayer for my location tomorrow was showing five continuous hours of Light snow.

I looked again just now and it's been replaced by five hours of Low-level cloud

Oh Lord, give me strength

Well the heavy snow predicted yesterday for IMBY has managed to get downgraded more by the hour, resulting in a couple of hours of alleged light snow. For those in the South of our region you could do well out of this ( again ) for MBY another big fat two fingers.

I really believe February will turn out like January based upon Met Office projections and how pretty well winter 2014-15 has been so far... non descript and boring. I will be very surprised if we get any easterlies and a sustained cold spell .....

We have no snow yet and the forecast here is for light snow tonight getting heavy around 5am so we're still planning to set off for Gatwick around 2am but I'll be keeping an eye on the radar and posts on here.

Rain here, but i am not surprised. All these various charts and models predicting snow. Well if the data fed into them is bollocks the output is bollocks so in future i will mainly be watching Carol Kirkwood BigGrin

London has had NO snow and is HIGHLY unlikely to get any in this current spell and I will stick my neck out and predict the rest of winter (February) will continue with this zonal/ cool westerly driven tripe!

some one is having a laugh here - OPI / SNOWCOVER IN OCTOBER / SPLIT VORTEX / SSW / RANDON ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT TWEETS / HEADLINE GRABBING PREDICITIONS / + 1000 FI MODEL OUTPUT = RIP.

If you want to know what is going to happen either look out of the window or refer to the met office 3 dayer and you cant go far wrong.

at least during the summer months far less urge to view MOD output discussions.

The snow started a bit before 7pm. Never got particularly heavy - on a scale of 1-5 (1 very light, 5 very heavy), it alternated between 2 and 3 for a while, before dwindling to 1, then stopping altogether. No covering.

There's that huge mass of heavy PPN sat playing with its own arse in the middle of the Irish Sea, not moving for the last few hours. FFS, just move eastwards!!
